Access Control Installation

An access control system allows you to control who can enter your facility, or specific areas of your building. It is the most efficient way to prevent unauthorized access to your premises, which is important for the safety and security of your employees, as well as the security of your buildings, assets and systems.

Access control will allow you to restrict certain employees from accessing sensitive areas and to manage and monitor your employees’ access at all times. They can also be easily integrated with intruder alarms, CCTV and road barriers or gates, providing your business with a physical security barrier 24/7.

Access control installation, door access

Access Control installation

ACCL can offer an Access Control solution that ranges from a single point of entry door controller through to a sophisticated package that controls and monitors every door in a building (and even multiple buildings) and can be set to deny access to some areas or provide monitored access on a temporary basis. All of our solutions can integrate with CCTV, Fire and Intruder alarm and Building Management Systems and can also link to time and attendance packages.

And if you need multi-site access control from a single central monitoring station controlling gates, doors and CCTV, we can link it all together.

Cards, Fobs and Fingerprints

Access control cards are easy and relatively cheap to issue to staff and indeed other people, such as contractors, to give them access to your premises and to control where they can go and for how long. Cards can be made active and inactive at the touch of a computer button and can be programmed and issued within seconds. Access card technology will work for a single point of access system all the way through to multi-door, multi-site applications. It is easy to collect and re-programme cards. They can be branded with corporate messages. They can have photo ID included and can even have credit added to facilitate cashless transactions at the canteen or vending machines. Modern card readers tend to be of the ‘present and touch’ type though magnetic swipe is still a popular mechanism.

Biometric access control systems using fingerprint or retina readers are increasingly popular. Retina scanning can be applied to guests but is more often only utilised for high-security applications to control the movements of staff. Fingerprint systems can be applied to a single point of access system all the way through to multi-door, multi-site applications. Once a user’s fingerprint has been scanned into the backend management system, it can be used very much in the same way as an access control card.

Proximity fobs will allow users to open door locks without necessarily having to present the fob to a reader. They only function to provide access/egress but will leave an audit trail so that movements can be recorded.

Staff database

With all of the above systems, a staff personnel database makes them work efficiently (with contractors and guest being added temporarily or permanently) and provides the ability to assign access levels. It is possible to link the system to an HR database to avoid double data entry.

Integration

All of ACCL’s Access Control solutions will integrate with our CCTV; Vehicular Gates, Barriers and Bollards; Automatic Number Plate Recognition; Pedestrian Gates and Turnstiles systems should any of these be required.

Integration with CCTV and lighting

CCTV has a variety of uses. In the field of Access Control it can be deployed so that if a door is unlocked, a camera will be activated in that location. If the camera is already active, it can be set to run at a higher frame rate and quality of resolution. Both working room lights and security lighting can be turned on.

Email, text and other alerts

Any activity, especially irregular activity, at any door can trigger an alert via email, text, pop-up, etc.

Simpler Solutions

If you are just looking to eliminate front door keys for senior staff and an intercom for guests and other staff – we can provide either a simple card swipe door controller or a PIN activated device and an intercom with CCTV built-in so that your receptionist can at least visually verify who is coming on to your property. Card swipe or PIN devices can be installed and programmed on selected individual doors throughout a building.

Meeting your needs

As you can see from the above, ACCL will design and install a system that suits your current needs and can grow to meet your future needs. If you want a fully integrated, computer controlled system with multiple facets or a simple intercom, we will advise you accordingly.

How is ACCL different?

Unlike many service providers ACCL work with clients in the delivery of the most suitable option. If cost savings can be made through the installation of a more suitable product, Project Managers will bring this to the attention of the client.
