Cat6, Cat6A and Fibre for Office Networks
Cat6 suits many business Ethernet connections. Cat6A provides additional headroom and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over the full standard channel length when the complete channel is correctly specified. Fibre is commonly used between floors, buildings or cabinets and where distance, capacity or electrical conditions make copper unsuitable.
Floor Boxes, Containment and Comms Cabinets
Routes may use floor systems, dado or skirting trunking, basket, tray and ceiling voids. The design must account for access, segregation, fire stopping and the finished workplace. Existing cabinet problems can be handled through our data cabinet tidy service, while visible workstation leads are covered by under-desk cable management.
Our Office Cabling Installation Process
Survey and design
We confirm data-point quantities, device locations, routes, cabinets, containment, programme constraints and testing requirements before the office cabling installation is priced.
Installation in occupied offices
Work can be phased around access windows and occupied areas. Evening or weekend activity is agreed where required rather than assumed for every project.
Testing, labelling and handover
Installed links are labelled and tested against the agreed category and project specification. Handover information can include outlet schedules, panel records, test results, drawings and product details.
Relevant generic-cabling principles are described in the BS EN 50173-1 generic cabling requirements.
