ACCL can offer an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) solution that ranges from opening a single car park barrier (is controlled by a database of allowable Number Plates) to a sophisticated package that controls multi access points and can be set to allow access restricted to time or location. We can even incorporate charging/penalty charging solutions.
In addition, a ‘counter’ can be incorporated to alert when space is available in one car park and not another and of course, can alert when a car park has become full. Other alerts include if a guest or contractor has overstayed their specified time allocation.
If a Number Plate is obscured, ACCL’s systems will notify so that a person can attend.
All of our ANPR configurations are specific ANPR camera operated but can integrate with other CCTV, Access Control, Fire and Intruder alarm systems and can also link to time and attendance packages.
And if you need multi-site access control from a single central monitoring station controlling ANPR, gates, doors and CCTV, we can link it all together.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition works by cameras capturing a high-quality image (with the aid of additional illumination at night). Character recognition software will compare this to a database and subsequently allow vehicle access. A charging/penalty charging model will require the subsequent integration with a payment system or an interface with DVLA – ACCL are able to advise on both of these scenarios. Images captured can be stored or deleted according to model.
Users are able to establish a standalone database or integrate with HR systems. Guests and contractors can be added and eliminated from the database.

ANPR is specific to its task and will have features such as the Character Recognition software built in (so that it is processed at the camera so that only the instructions are transmitted and not necessarily the image in order to keep speed at the maximum); a more rugged construction; pulsed illumination; and high resolution as standard.
