Having found premises for its new London office, the Canadian based mining company RM Gold decided on a full refurbishment, to create a high-quality, high-tech environment commensurate with the head office of a leading natural resources business. Communications cabling was outside the remit of the main contractor engaged for the refit, so the company had to select an installer itself…..and who better for the Job than ACCL.

ACCL was appointed by RM Gold’s London head office after a competitive tender, installing a Nexans Category 6 structured cabling system across 79 outlets before RM Gold extended the contract to cover electrical and AV infrastructure too. The completed project delivered new power, lighting and audio-visual systems throughout the office, from reception through to the boardroom, on time and within budget. (For the record, ACCL didn’t need the haul truck pictured above, and the team left RM Gold’s office exactly as tidy as they found it.)

From cabling into electrical and AV
ACCL completed the cabling project on time, to plan and within budget. RM Gold was impressed enough with ACCL’s responsiveness that, on discovering ACCL also carried out electrical installation, the company extended the contract there and then to cover its power and lighting work too.
ACCL installed a Powerplan Electrak underfloor power system to supply the office’s full power requirements, including air conditioning, kitchen area appliances and AV systems. The same contract covered lighting cabling, including a managed Prolojik PIR movement-switching system for the main office areas and individual switching for newly built offices.
Adding visual impact to the fit-out
Beyond the core installation, ACCL proposed changes to the lighting specification to create genuine visual impact. LED lighting was installed in the reception area and along the feature wall leading to the boardroom, separately controlled from switches at the main entrance.
To complete the project, ACCL also supplied AV cabling and hardware, a Sky TV feed, and ten 50-inch plasma screens across the boardroom, break-out area and feature wall.
