They supplied and installed seven Ubiquiti WiFi access points, a UniFi Dream Machine, a 24 port Layer 3 Ubiquiti switch, and ran new Cat6A Leviton cabling with two ports to every AP. The whole job was neat, well planned and done to a very high standard. The coverage across the office is excellent and it looks pretty cool too! Why bank Wi-Fi struggles (and how we fix it)

Glare, glass & steel. Modern branches and HQ atria play havoc with RF. We base AP placement on on-site measurements, not pretty grids. Start with a Wi-Fi Site Survey.
Sticky clients & roaming delays. Untuned power and channels keep devices clinging to distant APs. We set minimum data rates and enable 802.11k/v (and 11r where supported) for smooth hand-off.
Starved backhaul & PoE. APs on 100 Mb/s links, long patching and hot cabinets cap throughput. We right-size cabling and multi-gig uplinks, and certify every link (see Cable Testing & Certification).
Flat networks = risk. Guest, staff, trader and IoT traffic on one VLAN creates noise and exposure. We segment Staff / Trader / Guest / Payments / IoT with policy controls.

Our survey-led approach

1) Discovery with IT, Facilities & Risk
We map trading floors, branches, cash desks, meeting suites, executive areas, dealing rooms and visitor journeys. Change windows and building rules are agreed up-front.

2) RF survey & predictive modelling
We measure real attenuation and interference in open plan, glass partitions and lift lobbies; for new/refurb floors we model on drawings and validate on install.

3) Wired readiness & PoE planning
We assess risers, cabinets and pathways so each AP gets the backhaul and power it needs. If the foundation needs work, we phase structured cabling remediation out of hours (see Structured Data Cabling).

4) Design for capacity, latency & roaming
AP models and placements are selected for trader density and meeting-room concurrency. Channel width (often 20 MHz in densest zones), power and minimum data rates are tuned for fair airtime.

5) Segmentation & security
Distinct SSIDs/VLANs for Staff/Trader, Guest, Payments/PoS, and IoT/Facilities, with 802.1X for corporate devices, guest walled-gardens, QoS and rate limits.

6) Install, validate & handover
Noisy works are evenings/weekends. We validate under realistic loads, then hand over heatmaps, controller backups, as-builts, patching matrices and PoE budgets.
